Chris Gibson’s Ford Super duty has been an icon of Auburn Car Tunes’ expert installs. We have spent countless hours perfecting and modifying the custom stereo in it. In the truck is a combination of product we have sold him and product he has been given through sponsorships. Literally everything inside the vehicle has been altered and changed from the dash to the running boards to the side pieces behind the back seat. The head unit controlling the entire stereo is a Pioneer AVH-P7800DVD player with a slave DVD player beneath it.
This is a picture of the ARC Audio amplifiers and JL Audio subwoofers under and behind his back seat. We made a custom box for the (4) 8” woofers and made a custom mount / rack for the EQ brain. In this picture the brain rack is disassembled but it goes parallel to the far amp. The (2) amplifiers are for the entire stereo. One of them is for the subwoofers and the other is for the speakers in the doors.
Although we didn’t do these custom door panels they turned out absolutely beautiful. They are completely custom from the ground up. They overlay the factory door panel that has also been wrapped for additional customization and “to take it to the next level” Gibson says. The speakers in the door are a pair of Components / Separates and an additional coax speaker by ARC Audio. His next addition to the door panel later will be hidden LED’s that light up the interior.
The center console was our favorite part. It sits between the dash and the front seat on top of the transmission tunnel on the floor. The complete process took approximately 4 days from start to finish. Using all of the pictures, we are trying to show the process beginning to end. Although we did not paint the console, it turned out absolutely gorgeous. The top of the console shows and holds the EQ display piece, the EQ controller piece, and the bass knob for his subwoofers. The side of the console has even more! The passenger side of the console has a pocket for his iPod. Each side of the console near the floor has a strip cut in it, parallel to the floor, that lets blue light come through via the 6” street glow bulbs. All around, the console turned out just perfect.
